DPD Estonia launches food delivery service with Prisma
DPD, a leading provider of standard and express parcel services in Estonia and Europe, has launched a groceries home delivery service in Estonia in cooperation with Prisma.
According to Rainer Rohtla, CEO of DPD Estonia, the growth figures show that, much like the European market, the service has been well accepted by Estonian consumers, and more and more people are expected to buy food and non-food consumer goods online for home delivery. “I am pleased that we are introducing the food delivery service in cooperation with Prisma Peremarket – one of the fastest growing retail chains in Estonia. This is a solid foundation for promoting the online purchasing of groceries,” said Rohtla.
Initially, DPD couriers will deliver goods to Prisma customers in and around Tallinn (from Harku to Muuga) from Monday to Sunday. All orders placed through the ePrisma environment before noon are delivered to customers the same day.
“While our customers previously placed their orders through the ePrisma environment on our website and collected them in store, from now on we can offer a convenient home delivery service together with DPD, which makes shopping an even faster and more convenient experience,” explained Jussi Nummelin, CEO of Prisma Peremarket AS.
“Our customers have requested such a service because people want to buy goods at good prices in bulk. However, heavier products and large shopping bags are inconvenient to transport. This is where we can lend a hand and make our customers’ lives easier – one chore less to worry about!” said Nummelin.
The DPD Home Delivery Service will deliver door to door, and in blocks of flats too. After the courier has collected the order from the store, the customer will receive an SMS with an estimated one hour delivery window in which the goods will be delivered so that the customers can more effectively plan their time.
“Cooperation between a retail chain with one of the best variety of goods and a strong provider of delivery services opens a new chapter in the field of food delivery,” added Rainer Rohtla.
The terms and conditions of the home delivery service are available on the website of Prisma www.prismamarket.ee
